Vapes: the beginner's guide
Drawing technique, care, battery and the most common mistakes – everything you should know before your first vape.
· Hanf Pate, Dresden
A vape seems simple: draw, done. Still, most bad experiences happen in the first five minutes – and almost always for the same reasons.
Drawing technique
Draw slowly and evenly, for two to three seconds. A short, hard draw overheats the material and creates the harsh taste that many people mistake for poor quality. Wait at least 30 seconds between draws.
Temperature and battery
Lower settings give more aroma, higher settings more vapour. Start low. Don't keep charging the battery all the way – partial charges are gentler, and if the device overheats, let it cool down before you continue.
Storage and care
Keep the device upright and at room temperature. Cold makes the liquid thick and leads to blocked draws; warming it briefly in your hand helps. Clean the mouthpiece now and then with a dry cloth.
The most important rule
Start with one or two draws and wait ten minutes. With vapes, the effect kicks in much faster than with flowers – you can always take more, but you can't take it back.
