Batteries and rechargeable batteries

We sell devices that contain batteries or rechargeable batteries – for example vapes (e-cigarettes). We are therefore required to inform you of the following:

Waste batteries and waste rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. As a consumer, you are legally obliged to take them to a suitable collection point. Returning them is free of charge – at public collection points (in Dresden, e.g. at the recycling centres), at retailers that sell batteries, and in our shop at Bautzner Straße 55, 01099 Dresden.

The symbol of the crossed-out waste bin means that batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. If they contain more mercury, cadmium or lead than permitted, the chemical symbol of the substance (Hg, Cd or Pb) is shown below it.

Lithium batteries and rechargeable lithium batteries can catch fire if damaged or short-circuited. Where possible, hand them in discharged and tape over exposed terminals. Waste batteries contain valuable raw materials that are recycled, and may contain pollutants that harm the environment and health if disposed of incorrectly.

Vapes as waste electrical and electronic equipment

Vapes – including disposable vapes – are electrical devices. They must not be disposed of with household waste but must be collected separately; this is indicated by the symbol of the crossed-out wheeled waste bin. If the rechargeable battery or battery can be removed without tools, remove it before handing in the device and dispose of it separately; if the rechargeable battery is permanently built in, hand in the entire device.

You can hand in waste equipment free of charge at the collection points of the public waste management authorities, in Dresden for example at the recycling centres. This ensures that the raw materials it contains are recycled and pollutants are disposed of safely.
